Exergen Corporation Names Bob Harris to New Role of International Ombudsman

Watertown, Mass, May 19, 2025 – Exergen, a leading manufacturer of infrared thermometers and manufacturer of a highly accurate and easy to use thermometer, appoints Bob Harris to the newly created role of International Ombudsman, a key position that will strengthen the company’s ability to respond effectively to customer needs around the globe.

With his solid engineering background and nearly 30 years of experience across multiple functions within Exergen, Bob brings the versatility and insight needed to act swiftly and decisively. As ombudsman, his role will focus on identifying and resolving issues and challenges related to our products, field operations, and questions surrounding regulatory matters.

In 2024, Exergen increased its OEM/ODM footprint from 50 to over 60 countries and opened its new European office and fulfillment center in Eindhoven, The Netherlands. With the world increasingly focused on health and safety, Exergen strengthened its global presence by securing regulatory approval in seven additional countries, including Brazil, Columbia, Costa Rica, India, Indonesia, Panama, and Peru.

Operating now on a truly global scale—and with new countries joining Exergen’s network each quarter—it has become essential to provide timely and structured responses to a wide variety of questions and challenges. Bob will act as a bridge between our internal teams, Exergen headquarters, and international customers, ensuring that communication remains clear, concerns are addressed, and expectations are met.

“We congratulate Bob Harris on this promotion and look forward to the impact he will make as International Ombudsman,” said Dr. Francesco Pompei, founder and CEO of Exergen Corporation. “In his new role Bob will be entirely focused on improving our responsiveness and accountability. By listening carefully, coordinating across departments, and following up thoroughly, Bob will help uphold Exergen’s longstanding reputation for quality, innovation, and customer satisfaction.”
