Watertown, MA, December 10, 2025 – In November, the Leapfrog Group released their list of the U.S. hospitals that have earned consecutive “A” safety grades from The Leapfrog Group since 2012. The Leapfrog Group safety grades are assigned biannually, based on the hospital’s ability to protect patients from medical errors, accidents, injuries and infections. All of the hospitals on this list use Exergen’s award-winning Temporal Artery Thermometers.
“Exergen extends our congratulations to the 11 outstanding hospitals that have achieved consecutive ‘A’ Safety Grades from The Leapfrog Group since 2012,” said Dr. Francesco Pompei, founder and CEO of Exergen Corporation. “This remarkable commitment to patient safety and clinical excellence sets a national standard. We are especially proud that all of them rely on Exergen’s Temporal Artery Thermometers to support their caregivers with fast, accurate, and non-invasive temperature assessment. Their sustained achievement reflects the dedication of their teams and reinforces the critical role that medical products like our Temporal Artery Thermometers play in delivering world-class patient care.”
Doctors and nurses prefer Exergen’s Temporal Artery Thermometer because it is clinically accurate, very easy to use, non-invasive, very cost efficient, user- and patient friendly, and improves significantly productivity. The Temporal Artery Thermometers use infrared technology to measure the heat naturally emitting from the skin surface on the forehead specifically from the temporal artery which is positioned 2 mm below the skin. In addition, this method incorporates a patented arterial heat balance system to automatically account for the effects of ambient temperature on the skin.

About the Leapfrog Hospital Safety Grade
The Leapfrog Hospital Safety Grade is the only ratings program focused exclusively on accidents, errors, injuries and infections that harm or kill patients in hospitals. It is updated twice a year in the fall and spring, offering the public a reliable, independent assessment of hospital safety. The Grades are determined by public, peer-reviewed methodology, calculated by top patient safety experts under the guidance of a National Expert Panel. The grading system is fully transparent and always freely available to the public at hospitalsafetygrade.org. The Safety Grade is published by The Leapfrog Group, an independent national nonprofit organization celebrating 25 years of driving a movement for giant leaps for patient safety.
