World Children’s Day: Championing Child Health and Rights Around the Globe

World Children’s Day is November 20 and it is a global initiative led by UNICEF. This day recognizes the Convention on the Rights of the Child, a treaty that recognizes children as individuals with rights that must be respected and protected.

It is celebrated in 190 countries, from Kiribati to Kenya, India to the United States. On this day the world turns blue and children ask for change. In many places today, children’s rights are misunderstood or even denied. This day spotlights their voices, advocates for their health and safety, and ensures their rights are prioritized globally.

One of the most critical areas to support is children’s health. From combating preventable illnesses to ensuring access to quality care, children’s health is foundational to their future. Since fever is often the first sign of many diseases, infections and or viruses , regular temperature monitoring is important in early detection of infections. Using a tool like Exergen’s Temporal Artery Thermometers, which are fast, accurate, and non-invasive, lets caregivers get a reading with a gentle swipe across the forehead.

“Exergen supports World Children’s Day and the effort to protect children’s health,” says Dr. Francesco Pompei, founder and CEO of Exergen Corporation. “Children deserve a safe, healthy start. Our non-invasive Temporal Artery Thermometers are designed to help caregivers around the world care for kids with comfort and accuracy.”

This November 20, millions around the globe will celebrate children, their potential, their rights, and their health. As will Exergen.
