Temporal Artery Temperature for Infants – Instructional Poster
Temperature can be a touchy subject…
You want a thermometer that requires no apologies. The TemporalScanner™ Temporal Artery Thermometer is a noninvasive thermometer that lets you take a vital sign quickly and accurately. Comparable to rectal thermometry, it makes the gold standard easy to achieve.
Sweep it, read it, believe it.
The TemporalScanner Temporal Artery Thermometer is based on infrared readings of temporal artery blood flow. It's fast, accurate, noninvasive, and easy to use.
With a single stroke, the TemporalScanner Thermometer delivers temperature readings so accurate, they correlate with the gold standards of pulmonary artery catheters, esophageal probes, rectal temperature on a patient whose temperature has stabilized. When a patient’s temperature is rapidly changing, temporal artery temperature will identify the changes sooner than rectal temperature, even on infants 0-12 months. There's no disrobing or probing. Nothing to disturb a sick or sleeping patient.
The unique TemporalScanner technology stands up to the demands of a high-performance workplace — including intensive care units, perioperative areas, and emergency departments. The TemporalScanner has long been preferred by nursing staff due to ease of use, non-invasiveness, no repositioning of patients, and less operator error than other methods of thermometry. An obvious choice where accuracy and comfort count, its convenience and durability bring added value to any clinical setting.
- The TemporalScanner Thermometer couldn't be easier to use
- Depress the button
- Stroke the probe across the temple
- Touch behind the ear
The TemporalScanner Thermometer's infrared scanner is so precise you need only a gentle touch. Release the button when the numbers stabilize and remove the probe from the head. For a young boy being treated for cancer at a major medical center, the TemporalScanner has made a big difference, as his mother explained:
“This is such a great thing for him. It's one less thing that will hurt him. It's just wonderful!”
