Exergen TemporalScanner Thermometer Makes Its Broadway Debut

| July 2, 2012

WATERTOWN, Mass., June 26, 2012 (GLOBE NEWSWIRE) — The Exergen TemporalScanner thermometer made its
Broadway debut in Nicky Silver's The Lyons, starring Tony Award(R)-winner Linda Lavin. The majority of the show is set
in a hospital room, outfitted with the tools necessary for maintaining patient health and safety including the Exergen
TemporalScanner. With a gentle forehead scan, the nurse played by Brenda Pressley reads the temperature of cancer
patient Ben Lyons, played by Dick Latessa.

“We are proud that the TemporalScanner is recognized as a hospital room necessity on set and is used to read the
patient's temperature during the show,” said Francesco Pompei, Ph.D., CEO of Exergen Corp., maker of the Exergen
TemporalScanner. “Used in hospitals, clinics and doctors' offices across the country, we commend the set design and
props teams on creating a hospital setting audiences can relate to.”

Directed by Mark Brokaw, the comedy spotlights the nuances of family dysfunction led by Lavin as the family matriarch.
The cast includes Michael Esper (American Idiot), Kate Jennings Grant (Guys and Dolls), Dick Latessa (a Tony(R) winner
for Hairspray), Brenda Pressley (The American Plan) and Gregory Wooddell (Cymbeline).

Exergen markets two models of the TemporalScanner thermometer: a professional version for doctors' offices and
hospitals, and a consumer model sold in major retailers including Wal-Mart, Target, Walgreen's, Rite Aid, Costco, Sam's
Club, Babies “R” Us, Toys “R” Us, Kroger, and BJ's. More than one billion temperatures are taken each year with the
TemporalScanner. It is used in thousands of hospitals, clinics, and pediatricians' offices in the country, as well as in
millions of homes. For the third year in a row it is the #1 selling retail thermometer. The Exergen TemporalScanner's
performance is supported by more than 40 peer-reviewed published studies covering all ages from preterm infants to
geriatrics and all care areas from hospitals to homes.
