November 2000 - Exergen Corporation's Revolutionary Speed Boost System Improves Manufacturing Processes Exergen Corporation, a leading manufacturer of infrared temperature sensors, presents the IR Speed Boost System to both improve manufacturing processes and enhance productivity.  Exergen's Speed Boost technology optimizes and properly controls process temperatures, increasing production speed and assuring product quality. The Speed Boost System works by applying a heat balance equation from the surface temperature of the product. The surface temperature is combined with other non-contact temperature data to derive the internal temperature of the product.  The internal temperature reading is then used to optimize control to increase speeds.  The Speed Boost System can dramatically increase production speeds while assuring high product quality due to the controlled application of heat. The Speed Boost System consists of Exergen's IRt/c™ non-contact infrared sensors for precision thermal measurement and control, a controller/data acquisition signal processing module, certified accurate D Series hand-held surface sensors for calibration, as well as SnakeEye sensors for temperature measurement of both product and packaging prior to shipping.
