| Although commonly available thermo-couple extension wire may be used with IRt/c’s, twisted shielded pair wire is preferred due to its much superior noise rejection characteristics. This feature is particularly important when using IRt/c’s with long extensions in electrically noisy environments, due to the relatively high impedance of IRt/c’s compared to ordinary thermocouples. |
